Unintended consequences of "One Child"
The Washington Post calls it a “dilemma”… where to spend Chinese New Year has never been so stressful, apparently.
But for a generation of only-children in China who are now married to other only children as a result of the one child policy, there’s a catch-22 for which set of elderly, lonely parents to visit.
The problem, mind you, is not the generation of isolated elderly living without government aid and sans their beloved only children — it’s the rough decision their kids are forced to make this year.
